Finding Your Next Chapter: Reinventing Work with Renewed Purpose

Episode description:

As careers evolve — or end unexpectedly — many seasoned professionals find themselves asking, “What’s next?” In this episode I talk with Mike Dwyer, founder of Emplana Career, a Boston-based organization that helps older adults, primarily white-collar professionals, discover their next chapter. Drawing on decades of experience in management and consulting, Mike shares how a simple favor — helping a friend with a resume — grew into a mission to guide people through job transitions, age bias, and the digital job hunt. He reveals how to “fight back” with confidence, rethink networking, and use new tools like Emplana’s Career Workbook to find direction and fulfillment in the second half of life.

About the Guest:

Michael Dwyer is the founder of PSP Services, which provides management, operations, and technology consulting to public pension clients. After a long career in private and public sectors, consulting stints with Ernst & Young and Deloitte Consulting and a Master's Degree in Management from Salve Regina university, Michael Dwyer and a select group of advisors founded Emplana Career. Based at Cambridge Innovation Center in Boston, Emplana helps older workers discover their next chapter, focusing on white-collar professionals in tech, financial services and accounting, law, risk management and other services. Through PSP Services, Mike continues to provide management, operations, and technology consulting to public pension clients.
